Hi folks

Hi folks,

As we continue the story of Jesus we read about the miracle of the wine at Cana (John 2:1-11). Jesus and his new disciples attended a family wedding and the wine ran out. Jesus’ mother told him to fix it and he refused, then he did fix it. The miracle is quite discrete, people fill some large jars, then start drinking the new wine. No magic words are spoken and the change of the wine is not described. It just happens. In John’s Gospel, the miracles are called ‘signs’. In other words, this miracle points to who Jesus is. This lovely miracle is a window onto the reality that Christians live in. God is at work in and around us the meet our needs. God provides our food, shelter, friends, work and purpose. There will always be problems and unmet needs but God will always be at work. So go into the new year with faith, hope and love,

Geoff
